In short: Vigi keeps no history and sells no data. When AI is active, OpenAI processes the content under its own retention rules.
What happens when you check a message
When you paste a message or a screenshot and press “Check”, the content is sent to our server, analysed, and the result is returned to you straight away.
Vigi does not save your message in a database or keep a history of your checks.
Analysis by artificial intelligence
When AI analysis is enabled, the text (and the image, if you add one) is sent to OpenAI solely to produce the verdict. Vigi does not keep it in its own database.
By default, OpenAI may retain the content in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days. API data is not used to train its models unless this is explicitly enabled. Read OpenAI's data controls.
If AI analysis is unavailable, Vigi uses only its local rules on our server.
What we don't do
- No personal account, no public sign-up, no customer profile.
- No advertising cookies or trackers. The private demo uses one strictly necessary access cookie that expires after eight hours.
- No selling or sharing of your data for commercial purposes.
- No profiling: we keep no history of your checks.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Vercel. Minimal technical logs (for example the timestamp of a request) may be generated automatically to run and secure the service; they do not contain the text of your messages.
A word of caution
As a precaution, don't paste highly sensitive information (passwords, full banking codes). To check a scam, the text of the suspicious message is enough.
Your rights
Vigi creates no account or history that could be used to retrieve your checks. For questions about your data or exercising your rights, write to us.
